JOIN THE TEAM AT THE REAL CLINIC

The REAL Clinic was developed and established by Dr Naveen Cavale, a consultant plastic surgeon, Dr Robbie Walker, a consultant ophthalmologist, Dr Neel Desai, a consultant anaesthetist, and Dr Jonathan Hewitt, a consultant physician, as a fully equipped and self sufficient day case hospital to facilitate the best possible patient care.


Our aim as a multidisciplinary team was to build something based on how it should be done, not how it has always been done. Further, we wanted to challenge conventional thinking, and build and set up something outstanding that was based on function and need and which would deliver a superior experience for patients, aestheticians, doctors, surgeons and all other staff.

The REAL Clinic has been put together by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals. We understand, like you, how to deliver effective, safe and efficient care for our patients, and how outstanding processes and team members lead to outstanding outcomes. It is important to us that we give you what you require to provide the best possible care to the patients we are responsible for. As with any healthcare organisation, we are regulated and have been inspected by the Care Quality Commission, and have been rated as GOOD.

FACILITIES

The REAL Clinic has three consulting rooms, one minor procedures room, ambulatory admission and discharge bays, two main operating theatres and recovery. In the main operating theatres, you will find the anaesthetic and scrub team to be proficient and well organised, operating light to be bright and may very well be surprised by the natural light streaming in through the blinded windows. We have the capacity to do surgical procedures under local anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, sedation and general anaesthesia.

FOR ANAESTHETISTS

For anaesthetists, we have the following equipment available to you:


  • Alaris pK pumps
  • BIS
  • Difficult airway trolley, including Airtraq, Ambu Scope and GlideScope
  • GE anaesthetic machines
  • Total intravenous anaesthesia

FOR OPHTHALMIC SURGEONS

For ophthalmic surgeons, we have the following equipment available to you:


  • Biometer/topographer – Heidelberg Anterion
  • Cataract machine – Alcon Centurion
  • Fields machine – Humphrey’s visual fields
  • Microscope – Zeiss Lumera 700
  • OCT machine – Heidelberg Spectralis
  • Vitrectomy machine – Alcon Constellation

FOR PLASTIC SURGEONS

For plastic surgeons, we have the following equipment available to you:



  • Body Jet
  • Microaire
  • Piezo Acteon
  • Piezo Mectron
  • Renuvion
  • Sciton X laser – BBL, erbium ablative resurfacing and halo
