DARK CIRCLES / TIRED EYES

CONDITION

NECK BANDS & DECOLLETAGE

When considering how our skin ages, we should think beyond the jawline and down to the neck and decolletage.

As we care for our skin with conditioners, moisturisers and serums to help stimulate collagen, we often neglect to care for the neck and chest as we do our faces and this can make these areas slightly more vulnerable to changes in tone and texture.

As we age, our skin becomes less supported and the structure will start to weaken as our production of collagen and elastin begin to deplete. These essential proteins are produced naturally by our bodies and have a direct impact on the plumpness, elasticity and texture of the skin. As these proteins decrease, if not replaces they may cause the skin to appear thinner, and saggier causing lines to develop as well as taking on a crepey appearance.

Neck bands are the horizontal lines or ‘bands’ that can be seen circling the neck. Typically, we would use small amounts of Botulinum Toxin to soften the appearance of these lines, and give the skin a more taut look. The skin on the decolletage typically becomes thinner and takes on the crepey, dehydrated look which can be treated with skin boosting injections to improve tone, texture and condition of the skin.
